It makes me so sad to hear that the new Motion City Soundtrack album has been leaked :(

Even if it popped up onto my Tumblr RIGHT NOW I would not listen to it. Ya’know why? Because I CANNOT wait for the copy that I pre-ordered to pop through my door and to put it on a play it for the first ever time, all the way through.
and then to add it to my itunes/ipod and play it constantly for the weeks to come xD

But yeah, it makes me sad.. I really feel like people exploit musicians.. Like, they’ve worked hard to make this, put time and effort in and probably a hell of a lot of emotion.. why would you take that for FREE?!

I’m not going to lie.. I USED to (a very very very very veeeeeeeeeeeery long time ago when I was stupid and a lot younger!) download songs illegally.. until I realised that it’s so important to support artists! Quite recently a friend gave me a LOT of his music.. and not knowing if it was downloaded or not, I didn’t trust it and deleted it ALL (sorry Jamie).. I also went through my own music and checked that no songs that I hadn’t purchased remained, I haven’t downloaded music illegally in YEARS but I wanted to check.. It made my music dip a lot because a lot of songs remained from when I was a fair bit younger but it felt DAMN GOOD :)

I mean, how would you like it if someone stole from you? At the end of the day this is THERE job and they get paid for it based hugely on the fans support.. I know not everyone works in creative jobs.. but for those who do, how would you like it if someone got your art/music/game/movie for FREE? that you’ve put loads into.. or even if you work in a shop.. how would you like it if every time someone shop lifted, you LOST money?

So yeah. Support music and buy the album. At the end of the day.. when is an album ever more than £10? Almost never.

and if you don’t.. you suck hugely :)
